Pride in Our Parents

My dad is a big guy. He is 6' 3" and weighs about 270 pounds. So in all reality, he is a pretty intimidating man. He had to handle an issue with a man in the youth basketball league. Instead of losing his temper, he remained calm and proceeded to remove the man from the building. My dad showed me that violence isn't the answer, but talking through the situation and understanding the problem is. My dad is a great person to learn from and he has taught my brother and me some great life lessons.

Instructions for Living a Life

In life, you must pay close attention to the little details while keeping the larger picture in sight. You must make your way through life without the "blinders" on. You must remain aware of reality and grasp the constant elements in everyday life. We must allow the little moments to amaze us and follow our dreams. We need to remain open-minded and willing to take smart risks. In doing this, life will reward you.

Constitutional Amendment

If I were chosen to amend something to the U.S. Constitution, it would be to add a driving test for everyone once they turn 62 years of age. This would prevent many automobile accidents. There have been multiple people that have caused fatal accidents due to old age. This is not discriminatory, rather precautionary, so that the responsible drivers aren't at a constant risk. Driving is a privilege, not a right. It can be remove from those that are no longer applicable.

What Do You Wish You Could Believe In Again?

I wish I could believe in Santa Claus again.  When I believed in Santa, I was more creative with my gift requests. I always wrote him a letter. I always went to the store and sat on his lap. I would ask for trucks and toys. It was devastating when I found out he was a just a figment of my imagination.

Appearances

I know some people that are little on the outside and big on the inside. The first example would be my girlfriend, Kayla. She always puts herself last and makes sure that everyone else is happy. She is always trying to make everyone's day better prior to worrying about herself. My grandmother is another prime example. When she has the time and the money, she does whatever she can to help people and whether she has the ability to cure your problem or not, she still gives people her time to assist them. I believe that looks can be deceiving and people's appearances can be the exact same as or the polar opposite of their personality. It is all dependent upon the person's upbringing. If my internal beauty was directly reflected in my external appearance, many people would be surprised because I try to help people and give back to those who have made my life so spectacular.

My "Tribes"

When people think tribes, they usually picture Native Americans, but we are actually discussing the the groups or categories that we belong to in society and in our community. I belong to the tribe of baseball players. I belong to the tribe of a loving family. I belong to the tribe of fun seeking and outgoing friends. I also belong to the tribe of hardworking individuals and persistent athletes. I belong to the tribe of fun and happiness. These are my tribes.
